Charles Vaughn has been refining his skills on the guitar for over forty years, devoting much of that time also to teaching. Charles was voted “most talented” by his high school senior class. He holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts “Performance” degree in music from The University of North Carolina where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, and where he served as Lecturer in Guitar for eleven years. He also served on the music faculty at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina for ten years, and has been a member of the adjunct faculty at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte since 1981. Charles is currently “performer in residence” at UNC-Charlotte.
Charles Vaughn is also an alumnus of The North Carolina School of the Arts, where he studied with Maestro Jesus Silva, and has had master classes with an impressive array of world-renowned guitarists, including the legendary Andres Segovia, Pepe Romero, Christopher Parkening, David Russell, Frederick Hand (“Cramer vs. Cramer”), and Manuel Lopez Ramos.
